While I'm busy crocheting Castiel and Adam for two very kind and overall amazing people, you have another chance to do good and get a Supernatural character of your choice.

Rules are exactly the same as last time:

Go to my Crowdrise page and donate.
Let me know about your donation and how to contact you in the comments (comments are screened)

I will then randomly choose one winner out of everyone who has donated via my Crowdrise page by the 31st of March. The winner will get a character of their choice, especially made for them and shipped worldwide.

Also: It happens to be my birthday this months. Just saying.
gwaevalarin: (Bal/Cas)

Crochet!Castiel and crochet!Balthazar want to ask you to help raise money for Hope 2 Haiti 2012

And if, in addition to the great feeling helping the children in Haiti will give you, you also want the chance to get your very own crocheted Supernatural character, here is how you do it:

Go to my Crowdrise page and donate.
Let me know about your donation and how to contact you in the comments (comments are screened)

Crochet!Castiel, crochet!Balthazar and I will then randomly choose one winner out of everyone who has donated via my Crowdrise page by the end of the month (29th of February). The winner will get a character of their choice, especially made for them and shipped worldwide.

If you don't want a crocheted character, don't let that keep you from donating anyway.

[livejournal.com profile] random_auction is now open for business. Watch, join, and go to the Offering Post to offer and bid for Random Acts' Hope To Haiti project.

A little side note: Even though Randon Acts was co-founded by Misha Collins, and is therefore closely connected to the Supernatural fandom, [livejournal.com profile] random_auction aims to be a multi-fandom community. Helping others does not depend on which show you watch.

Disclaimer: [livejournal.com profile] random_auction does not officially represent Random Acts, any trademarked fandom, or anything other than a whole-hearted effort to raise funds for a Random Acts trip to Haiti.

You want your own crocheted fandom plushie? Here is your chance to get one, and do good by donating to Random Act's Hope To Haiti project via my Crowdrise Fundraiser.

More on my crochet!spn family.

CLOSED

Currently highest bid: $30 (by [livejournal.com profile] seriesjunkie23)
There may have been new bids since the last update, so please refer to the comments for the exact amount.

Here is how it works )

Further donations made to my Hope to Haiti Fundraiser page, whether you want to bid on the plushie or not, are, of course, more than welcome, but please be aware that they will not count for the auction (as in, if you donate $15 now, and bid $30 you will still have to donate another $30 to get the plushie).
I'd also very much appreciate if you could help me spread the word:

Thank you. :)

I know that sounds like a lot of rules. I just want to be sure that everyone knows exactly what's happening and what to expect. But basically, we're all here to help and do good, right? So don't worry too much, we'll figure it out.
Any questions? Don't hesitate to contact me.

You all know my crochet!spn family, right?
No? For those of you who don't, here they are:

Crochet!Castiel was made by [livejournal.com profile] dimturien. Crochet!Dean, crochet!Lucifer, crochet!Crowley and Steve (the hell hound) are all made my me.You can also find some of their adventures here, here, and here.

Now, I'm currently considering fundraising ideas for my Hope To Haiti fundraiser page. One of these ideas is offering to crochet a character of your choice (not neccessarily SPN) to someone who donates to Hope To Haiti via my page.

click for poll )

Something else I can offer, is English-German translations and proof reading of German texts. If you need a English-German translation or want your German text checked for spelling or grammar mistake, or if you know someone who does, just contact me at gwaevalarin [at] freenet [dot] de.
Depending on the length and sort of text, I will tell you if (and how fast) I'll be able to fulfill your request. In that case, you'll get your translation or proof reading for free if you promise to donate to my Hope To Haiti fundraiser in return.

Here is a message I just found on my Crowdrise page:

How so awesome, Misha? )

Motivated? You can still start your own Crowdrise fundraiser and join the Hope To Haiti Project. You could, for example, try to raise money by teaching comparatives to actors. ;)

Of course, you can also still make me happy by donating to Hope To Haiti via my Crowdrise fundraiser page.

Random Acts have a new project: Hope to Haiti.

In June 2011, the Random Acts team, Misha Collins and Matt Cohen will go to Jacmel, Haiti, to build a community centre. And they are looking for people to join them.

Video under here )

What can you do?

You can spread the word. The Twitter hashtag is #Hope2Haiti

You can join the team and try to raise $5,000, and then maybe go to Haiti to help there. I'm sure it's going to be an amazing experience.

And last but definitely not least, you can donate. I'd appreciate if you use my Crowdrise fundraiser page to do so, but the important part is that you give what you can, preferably through the account of someone you believe should join Random Acts to Haiti.

Hint: It's my birthday this month, so in case you're looking for the prefect present, you know what to do. ;)

11 hours, 83 kilometers, $94,742. That's all I have to say right now.

Good night (and sorry for the spam)

Next morning edit (because I don't want to spam you even more): I'm more or less awake again after about 4 hours of sleep. I completed my pledge (in Euros instead of USD). And just after I did that - I kid you not - the doorbell rang and it was Jehovah's Witnesses who wanted to read me a short section from the bible - I was tempted to ask them if they could make it something from Revelations since that's the fun part - and then started telling me how everyone only thinks of themselves nowadays and I literally burst out laughing. Nice timing. Thanks for making my morning. You guys have no freaking idea because you've obviously never met Misha freaking Collins.
I'm still sleep deprived and high from last night. Can you tell?

Today is the big day for Random Acts and Misha when he's going to run as far as he can for charity. And because that is such a great cause, there's a lot of support in this household.

Run, crochet!Castiel, run! )

Misha just started running so if you can, please support him and Random Acts by making a pledge per km or a flat donation. :)

This is a great cause, guys, and it really doesn't matter whether you're a Minion or not. This is fandom at its very, very best and any amount you can give will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
