It's still a few more hours in my corner of the world, but it's already 2013 for some of you, and I will probably be busy with drinking sparkling wine, watching the fireworks, calming down the cats, and hugging my family later.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year! <3

Let me take this opportunity to thank you all for being amazing friends, fun fellow fangirls and just generally brilliant people. I am so glad to know you all, and I hope that 2013 will bring at least as much fun, and fandom, and shenanigans as 2012 did.

If you had a bad year I hope that 2013 will be kinder to you, and if 2012 was already good, then I hope 2013 will be even better.

It's already 2012 in some parts of the world, and there are only a few hours of 2011 left here, so:

Good riddance, 2011.
The year wasn't all bad - it brought two fun conventions, and London, and Dublin, and tumblr with all the amazing people I met there etc. - but overall it is not a year that I will miss terribly.

2012 brings a new job, and JIB 3, and AECon 3, and 7x17, and an Apocalypse - I demand Croatoan virus, and as soon as it breaks out I'll be on my way to find Camp Chitaqua - and who knows what else it has in store.

I hope we will all have a fantastic 2012 together!
See you on the other side.
And FYI: I'll be online tonight, so if anyone feels like having a Twitter or tumblr party, count me in.

While I'm here: Thank you to [livejournal.com profile] rogueslayer452, [livejournal.com profile] takadainmate and [livejournal.com profile] cienna for your holiday cards. ♥

Have a fun night everyone!

I'll probably spend my time answering the door and giving out sweets. And of course writing my private review of the past year like I do every Samhain.

What are you guys doing tonight?
gwaevalarin: (ForeverCharmed)
[livejournal.com profile] verena158 and [livejournal.com profile] dimturien will be here in a few hours but before I set everything up for our little party tonight I wanted to wish you all a Happy New Year.

Whatever 2007 has brought you I hope you can take some precious memories with you and collect many more in 2008. May the new year give you the opportunity to make at least some of your dreams come true, to meet new friends and cherish the ones you have.
Just always stay that crazy and amazing bunch of people you are. *hugs flist*

I wish you all a merry Yule / Midwinter / Christmas / Holiday Season!

I hope you'll all have some peaceful and relaxing days with your family and friends and get lots of nice and thoughtful presents. *hugs flist*

Edit: By the way, I wanted to squash a rumour. Reputedly, when my mother asks me to decide which cheese to buy, I choose by name because one is called "Petrell i a". Come on, do you really think I'm that much of a fangirl?
You're right. Of course I am. :p
gwaevalarin: (Bloodlust)
I wish you all a happy Halloween/Samhain!

"Großmutter, sag mir, was höre ich klagen?

I hope you'll either have a good scare or a peaceful night with your ancestors, depending on how you decide to spent this night.

Question: Am I the only weird person who usually isn't the biggest fan of children but simply loves them this one night when it's Halloween?
I'm starting to fear I don't have enough candy though. The door bell used to ring one or two times and this year I stopped counting after the fifth time. But so far they've been adorable and squeeworthy. All Most of them. And I think that one little boy was really proud when I told him that I thought his Darth Vader mask was cool. *g*

Beltaine

I hope all of you had a great Beltaine/1st May.

I had. We drove to Zeubelried to meet with my grandparents at 10 a.m. and then my parents, my grandparents, Sissi (their dog), myself (and for the first stage my cousin) walked to Sommerhausen, later to Erlach and finally back to Zeubelried where we arrived at about 5:30 p.m.
The best part was from Sommerhausen to Erlach. We walked some really small paths you sometimes could hardly even make out and the whole world was a thousand shades of green. I don't like the vineyards we have everywhere around here very much but luckily around Zeubelried it's more fields and meadows and woods. It was warm but not too warm. And though sun's not really my cup of tea it was okay today. I even managed to get through this sunny day without getting a headache.
The air was heavy with the smell of spring and woods and rape. There where butterflies and lizards and even a heron. Sissi was dashing and jumping down the paths and through the fields and sometimes all you could see of her were her ears. She seemed to have a lot of fun.
The wind was playful sometimes hiding in the treetops, sometimes calming down just to jump at us a second later, sometimes painting waves on the fields.

At home my parents and I had a little barbeque to slowly end this day.

It might just be me but 1st May, Beltaine, every year feels like a special day. Beautiful and magical.

Yule 2006

Happy Midwinter's night to all of you!

I hope you have some quiet and relaxing days ahead of you. Enjoy the darkness with lots and lots of candles and don't forget: From today the light'll start coming back again.

It's the time of the year when the world turns all red and yellow and brown. The time for long walks in the woods. The time to sit on your sofa with a blanket, a cup of tea or hot chocolate and a book. The time for "bremser", apples, grapes, windy and rainy days... in other words: It's autumn.

A great beginning of autumn to all of you!

So viele Menschen! So wenig Platz!

Supernatural/Charmed/Green Hell-Entzugserscheinungen:

Seltsamerweise muss ich bei Ultraschallbildern immer grinsen: "You'll be happy to know that you're a boy."
