I finished Survivors yesterday. I had almost forgotten how amazing that show is. If you haven't seen it already you should give it a try.

Survivors starts with the ourbreak of a virus that leaves well over 90 % of the world's population dead in just a matter of days. Society breaks down and those left behind in this post-apocalyptic world fight to survive. Some try to build a new society with new rules, others live be the survival of the fittest rule.
The show follows a small grup of survivors thrown together by chance.
Abby is on the search for her son Peter who was away from home on a school camp when the outbreak happened. She is the heart and soul of the group, keeping them together. She also has a very strong moral compass guiding her in every situation.
Greg is the leader. He is the one who turns up best prepared and he usually knows what to do. He can be a little harsh at times, but he always has the best interest of the group in mind.
Greg's leadership leads to quite a few confrontations with Tom who is, in my opinion, the most interesting character of the show. When the virus hits he's in prison for murder and he only escapes by killing the only surviving guard. For him, this new world, presents a chance to redeem himself. But that doesn't mean that he'll suddenly turn kind and trustworthy. You definitely don't want him as your enemy, but if you can win him over as a true ally you'll be as safe as you could ever hope to be.
Tom has an amazing chemistry with Anya. She's a young doctor who starts off completely terrified but soon finds her own strength when she realises that she is needed.
Al is rich and spoiled and doesn't really care about anyone but himself. But then his world turns upside down and he has to grow up and learn to take responsibility when he meets Najid, an 11-year-old boy who has lost everyone and is now looking to him for guidance.
Unfortunately, the show only consists of 2 seasons with 6 episodes each and it ends in somewhat of a cliffhanger. Not a major one but one that definitely left me wishing for a third season. Don't let that keep you from watching the 12 hours of truely great tv the show provides, though. It is time well spend.
