A child again for one night

I went to see the Circus Roncalli with my parents and my grandmother last night. It's a pretty big and famous German circus that is currently in the area for some guest performances and it does have everything you would expect from a circus, except any animals other than horses, and that does make you feel like being a child again for three hours. It's silly - in a good way - stunning and magical, sometimes all at once.
We had seats in the front row so were were pretty much right in the middle of it. We were a little afraid that it may be a rather dangerous place to be as well because we had heard that they included the audience once in a while. But you weren't really safe anywhere.
Especially the dumme august, a clown but one of the not scary variety, frequently asked people into the arena with him. Most of them did a pretty good job too, being fun and playing along. We laughed until we cried.
During one of the acts one of the belly dancers danced right in front of me. She was so close I could have touched her. Excuse me for being shallow for a moment but it was kinda hot, not gonna lie.
Then there was one artist with incredible body control. As you might know I'm not a fan of too many muscles but I guess in his case it just came with the job. But what made him stand out was the way he was positively glowing when the audience cheered after a particularly difficult act. Some of the girls had these rather arrogant looks - not all of them, most of them were very sweet - so it was great to see someone who looked so happy about the audience's reaction.
Another thing that stood out was a couple whose act was almost like a silent movie telling a very tragic love story. It was beautiful.
For the finale all the artists asked people from the audience to join them in the arena for a dance. I was asked by the one I mentioned earlier. It was surprising how gentle he was when taking my hand and his eyes were still shining when he thanked me for joining him. It makes a performance so much more enjoyable when you get the impression that the artists is just a really nice guy as well. :)
They also made us sing "All you need is laugh" which was basically their theme song and when it started raining confetti I was so close to shouting "Confetti! It's a parade!". I did that later, though, when the show was over and I brushed the confetti off my coat and once again when my mother found more of the stuff in my hair.
On the way home my hands still smelled like chalk and the perfume all the artists used.
Talking about Confetti! It's a parade!, I'll be on my way to another, even more exciting event, early tomorow morning. I'm so much looking forward to seeing Misha again and meeting Mark Freaking Sheppard. And Aldis, Julie, Jake, Fredric, Jason and a bunch of crazy and amazing Supernatural fans.
