Typecasting much?

I'm currently rewatching Tru Calling. And yesterday I stumbled over an episode that had Jeffrey Dean Morgan in it.
If you know Jeff and you know the concept of Tru Calling you can probably guess how he was introduced.
...
Exactly. He was dead.
I saw his name on he screen and then they brought in a body and my first thought was "I bet that's Jeff." Of course it was. But in the end he, almost surprisingly, did survive the episode. That's an improvement.
In case you don't know the concept of Tru Calling and find it confusing that someone can survive the episode even though he was dead at the beginning: Basically, Tru, the main character, works in a morgue and sometimes the dead ask for her help. Then her day rewinds and she tries to save them.
