Wild were the winds that came...
Jan. 18th, 2007 11:12 amErm... I admit I didn't listen to the radio but how bad exactly do people think that this storm is going to be?
My mother just called to ask if I had to go to my seminar today or if it had been canceled because of the storm. Well, it hasn't (as far as I know) and I have to go because we have our finals there today and if I miss them all the work - seminar paper, presentation, two weeks of taking part in the seminar every day from 6p.m. to 8:30p.m. - would have been for nothing. So my mother told me in that case my father'd drive me to university and back home tonight. WTF?
It was pretty windy when I drove to the uni this morning but it was fine. Actually I completely enjoyed walking from my car to the building feeling the strong wind and during the lecture I spent about half of the time looking out the window, watching the trees move and listening to the sound of the wind and I really had to resist the urge to squeee.
So, at about 3 p.m, right? *sits at the window and waits*
Yeah, I just love wind and storms. Maybe a little too much.
Edit: Huh, looks like the seminar is getting canceled:
"Orkanwarnung: Aus Sicherheitsgründen bittet die Hochschulleitung darum, alle Veranstaltungen an der Universität heute ab 15.00 Uhr abzusagen. Dadurch soll es den Beschäftigten und Studierenden ermöglicht werden, vor dem für den späten Nachmittag erwarteten Orkan sicher nach Hause zu kommen."
So I pretty much studied for nothing all morning. *sighs*
