Welcome to the Apocalypse

The awesomeness of last season just continues and we start right were we left off last season. With the boys back together but Lucifer rising. And it could have been the end right there but something saves them.
Love the new title sequence. It's very fitting for Lucifer. Bloody, creepy but also kind of beautiful. And even though I knew he was "promoted", I squeed when I saw Misha's name together with Jared's and Jensen's as a main character.
Isn't it great how much Dean trusts Cas by now, that his first thought in the face of Armageddon is that they have to find his angelic friend? And when Chuck tells him that Cas is dead - which probably didn't worry anyone outside the show's world with Misha's name in the credits - Dean is really upset and hurt. And Zachariah has to suffer the consequences. Serves him just right.
The fangirl was hilarious but I dearly hope that they won't overuse the fangirl comic relief.
Lucifer's vessel... he doesn't look like much so far and his backstory is a little lame but we won't have the vessel's former owner around any longer and I believe that the actor has a lot of potential to make Lucifer both scary and sympathetic. I have a feeling that we are going to adore him despite knowing that he can't be trusted. And hey, this is Supernatural. Who says that Lucifer will be any more black than the angels are white?
The moment Bobby told Sam to lose his number I knew something was seriously wrong. Bobby would tell him he did wrong but he would never slam the door in his face because Sam is still family not matter what he did.
And Sam looked so young and vulnerable in that scene. Oh, sweety. It all went terribly wrong but his intentions were still good and that has to count for something.
I think it's great that Meg is back. Of course she'd be the first volunteer to hunt down Dean. And giving it a little twist by letting Bobby stab him. But why didn't she possess Bobby herself so she could be the one to kill Dean? It sounds odd that she calls Lucifer "father" since Azazel had dubbed her his daughter. It's also interesting that Sam recognises Meg immediately while Dean doesn't. And did she call Bobby Dean's "Daddy"?
I'm really glad I read Jim Beaver's tweet were he talked about driving back to set for another episode. This way I knew Bobby'd survive. I'm still worried about his not being able to walk. *miep*
And then we finally learn why Dean is so important for the angels. He's Michael's vessel. Not a chance in hell or heaven that that's going to happen. I like this solution. It doesn't change anything about Dean as a person. If he stops the Apocalypse then it's still because he's a human giving his best and rather depite being chosen.
Zachariah sure has a not so gentle way of persuading but Dean won't give in. Because the giving himself over wholy to the service of god deal is off with god not even being around. It's clear that Zachariah couldn't really kill Dean but I wonder if he trusted that he wouldn't kill Sam either because they still need him as leverage against Dean or if Dean was willing to risk sacrificing his brother. Times have changed for sure.
Fortunately we never find out because that's when Castiel crashes Zach's little party and saves the day by kicking some angel butt. Go Cas! I'd say he definitely qualifies as "fallen" now. And obviously he has an idea who saved him and the Winchester boys. God? I hope the answer is not quite that easy.
Sam was so desperate to apologies to Dean all through the episode but Dean doesn't want to hear it. There's nothing Sam can say that he doesn't already know. Of course Sam is sorry. Of course he really means it. But that doesn't stop the Apocalypse. And now Dean feels like he can't trust Sam any more which, yes, I can understand but everyone seems to forget that Dean and Cas played their part in bringing on the Apocalypse as well. Not to mention the angels and Ruby who did a pretty good job with manipulating everyone around. But even though Dean thinks that things will never be the way they were I am sure they can figure it out. Because despite everything Dean can still trust Sam and I think that deep down he knows it.
In completely unrelated news: 7 years ago, to the day, a little fairychild entered our lives quite unexpectetly and she's been part of the family ever since.
Happy Findday, Elanor!

Date: 2009-09-12 02:23 pm (UTC)Exactly. Dean broke the first seal, Sam the very last. They definitely both played their parts and they both have been manipulated. Let's just hope they both learned from that and don't keep pushing away from the other. Becaue one thing's still true: they're stronger togehter.
So now I'm mostly excited about seeing them both rebuilding their trust and hugging it out :D

Date: 2009-09-12 03:13 pm (UTC)And they better work that out fast because they're going to have to fight side by side to stop the Apocalypse and defeat both, heaven and hell.

Date: 2009-09-13 07:03 pm (UTC)But that Meg actress sucked! Old Meg was awesome so that was tough to beat.
I guess I should have watched the last ep of season 4 again before watching the premiere. I was like "What? Cas died?" -I had forgotten that (boy, I`m really getting old) but he`s back which is awesome. I`ll be Mishas minion forever!
But doesn`t he and Dean would make an awesome couple, there really is love in the air between the two of them!!!

Date: 2009-09-14 06:56 am (UTC)I'm not sure about the new Meg actress yet. She didn't get a lot of screentime so far. Is that actress the one who will play her from now on? After all Meg left the body again.
I`ll be Mishas minion forever!
Same here - well, maybe not forever but for the forseeable future. Misha is really good at stealing fangirls. He surely did succeed in my case. ;-)

Date: 2009-09-14 05:21 pm (UTC)What I didn`t like? I know that this will sound so lame but I can`t really tell you. But after it was over I just thought "hm, okay" and not "WOW!! Epic Love". But as I`ve said I`ll wait for the next episodes and maybe than I can tell you more. And maybe it`s just that I disliked the Sam-Demonblood-addiction-storyline in first place and that I like them being happy together and everything. But I promise I will think about what Ì didn`t liked!! My homework for today ;-D
Mishas so crazy-cool, but Jensen is still breathtaking hot and sexy!!
