Asylum 5: Meet&Greet

gwaevalarinI'm doing this slightly out of order because the Meet&Greet was on Saturday evening. But it was the most fun and amazing hour of the weekend - with Misha's panel on Sunday being the runner up - so it just has to go first.
I was at a table with some of my girls who, by the way, made this weekend even more amazing because they just rocked! It was the one right in the middle of the room that we dubbed the Jared table because it was so freaking high.
The first guest coming up to us was Jake. We asked him is that was his girlfriend sitting by the door and then called her over to join us. She was adorable and Jake seemed quite impressed that we embraced her like that. Jake was in a really good mood, just chatting with us. He told us about high school and how he hated math but how everyone at his school was quite relaxed and how there was a lot of weed involved. Jake also assumes that this included the teachers.
We had to agree with him that he beats Misha because he's an angel and a Winchester while Misha is just an angel. Unortunately Misha did not hear that even though Jake shouted it out to him across the room.
Misha was next. I can give you no guarantee that the following really did happen in this exact order but it all did happen:
Misha: "What's going on?" *looks around expectantly*
No one really answered so I said: "A convention, apparently."
Misha: "Really? What are you all doing here?"
Then he went into how cliche that sounded: So, what's a girl like you doing in a place like this.
He asked us to tell him something about ourselves and looked around and at one point just kept looking at me. I had no idea what to tell him. "What do you want to know?" but by then he had already moved on to telling us that this was the worst cocktail party he had ever been to because it missed alcohol and we agreed that mixing orange juice and apple juice - which apart from water where the only drinks available - wasn't really the same.
Misha asked us what we'd do differently if we ran the con and we agreed on having alcohol and a bouncing castle.
I think that was about the time when Jake and Jason got their table to cheer for them which, of course, Misha could not just let happen. So he asked Sofia for a Jason photo she had printed out.
Sofia: "No!"
Misha: *stares at her* "Give it to me!"
She did because you just cannot say no to Misha, at least not twice and he turned it around, wrote Free blowjobs, held it up and whistled to get everyones attention. Sofia complained to him that he had ruined her photo but he just called her trouble maker and signed it before giving it back to her which didn't exactly undo the ruining.
Shortly after that Misha started throwing gummi bears at the other tables. So I told him I was glad that this time I wasn't the one he was throwing them at (for those of you who don't know: At Asylum Europe he was throwing peanuts at our balcony during the M&G). With all the talking in the room Misha didn't understand me the first time so he leaned over to me and asked me to repeat what I had just said and when I did he grinned and went: "It's a nice change, isn't it?"
And then Misha had the fabulous idea to arm us all with gummi bears.
Misha: "Here. Take them" *gives everyone some*
Me: "Who exactly is our target?"
Misha: "Over there. Jake and Jason."
Me: "So, on three?"
Misha: *nods* "One, two, three."
And a lot of gummi bears where flying across the room. Of course the Jake and Jason table got right back at us with their own gummi bears.
When Aldis came over to us and Misha had to leave for another table, he told Aldis something along the line of: I really think you could pull off playing a white character (you'll hear more about that running gag when I tell you about the panels).
And then we got a group photo with Misha and Aldis and Misha tried to convince us to look very miserable which didn't really work because I was too busy cracking up. The photographer then asked us to all jump on three and Misha was all: "No! Don't jump! Be miserable!" which we completely ignored so Misha decided: "Now we do another one and on three you DON'T jump!".
I cannot tell you anything about Aldis bacuse when Misha left his Dad came over and I spent all my Meet&Greet Aldis time talking to Misha's Dad. He was so nice! Here's some of the things I learned:
When he left, I turned back to our table and for a moment I thought that noone of the actors was there until a spotted Julie pretty much next to me. She just blended in so well and was in the middle of asking everyone about their Halloween costumes. She also confirmed that she did marry earlier this year but they still haven't been on their honeymoon. They're planning on going to Mexico and I hope they really will be careful.
Shortly before Julie left Misha crept up on her. And then he just stood behind her, right in her personal space just staring at her and Julie pretended to get really nervous.
The last guest at out table was Fredric who was really, really tired after being up for soemthing like 30 hours. Hew apologised for not catching everything we said to him because he had just kind of fallen into a trance by that point, poor guy. He also - just like Misha - complained about the lack of booze. He considered knocking over the table because of that.
He was, however, still awake enough to ask where Misha was at the moment and - in good Meet&Greet tradition ;) - throw a gummi bear at him. Misha, wearing a I &hearts Justin Bieber t-shirt by then - turned around but he couldn't figure out who exactly had thrown it, he just knew it had come from our table. He still pretended he did know and threateningly pointed in our general direction. Of course, the whole thing resulted into another gummi bear battle between Misha's and our table that somehow, for a reason we will never know, turned into a contest between the actors of trying to catch gummi bears with their mouth. I don't want to know how many of those gummi bears had been on the floor already at some point but, yeah, whatever.
Misha pretty much sucked when throwing for Aldis who was just one table over while Aldis succeeded with Jake across the entire room on the first try.
I'm afraid that's all I remember from the Meet&Greet. When we left the room it looked like it had been hit by a bomb. Like children! All of them! And particularly Misha.
With the Meet&Greet just over and Fredric's extra autograph session only about an hour away - I say it again: poor guy. - I felt like I needed a little time to get sorted again and therefore decided not to go to Jason's concert which I very much regret because it means that I missed this *cries* :
Not my video, obviously, since I wasn't there.
But I had a lot of other Misha moments this weekend. And I will get to them all at some point. *g*

- Misha did indeed set a bear trap with cookies and milk for Santa Clause together with his grandfather (his mother's father) every year. Then his grandfather would take away the milk and cookies and leave a little piece of red cloth in the trap. Misha had told us about that in a panel and we wanted to know if it was actualy true.
- Misha has pretty much been the way he is - "entertaining", as his father put it - every since he was about 12 years old.
- This was the first convention he had joined Misha but apparently Misha's sisters and brother have done some sort of conventions too so he knew what to expect.
- We asked him if he thought we behaved ourselves and he said we probably behaved ourselves a little too much. So we promised to do something more crazy the next time we met Misha and tell him that his father had allowed us to do it. ;)
- He's been to Germany once, to Rothenburg.
- He hasn't seen his grandson yet because he lives so far away from Misha but he will be over to see him in about 1 1/2 weeks.
- We asked him how his grandsons name is pronounced exactly and he was a little confused because obviously West isn't that difficult to pronounce. Of course, we meant Anaximander. And now I know that I am pronouncing it correctly.
- He really was very open about everything and very interested in who we were and where we were from. He could hardly believe we had flown over from Germany just for the convention. And he really was just so, so nice.
