First championship point for Jenson! Whoohoooo!
What is it with the good results on tracks I don't really like? Hungary last year, Magny-Cours this year. I think I never was so happy about a 8th place. Finally!
The race looked good from the beginning. He won one position right at the start - with an extremely heavy car - and then he could go the pace of the cars in front of him. Cars like Williams, BMW and even Alonso's McLaren. After all Alonso only finished about 2 seconds ahead of him. Sure, that doesn't mean that the Honda is suddenly as fast as the McLaren, traffic and luck played their part there. But Jenson drove a great race - just compare him to Rubens who started just one place behind him - the strategy worked out and the pit crew did a great job as well. In short: He had pretty much a perfect race.
I only hope that wasn't just one good race but he can fight for points now again on a regular basis. But right now I don't want to think about what is about to come (even if it is the English GP) but just celebrate this first championship point.
But Ant... *slaps him on the back of his head* That was completely uneccassary.
Oh, right, results:
1. Kimi Räikkönen
2. Felipe Massa
3. Lewis Hamilton
4. Robert Kubica
5. Nick Heidfeld
6 Giancarlo Fisichella
7. Fernando Alonso
8. Jenson Button
9. Nico Rosberg
10. Ralf Schumacher
11. Rubens Barichello
12. Mark Webber
13. David Coulthard
14. Alex Wurz
15. Heiki Kovalainen
16. Takuma Sato
17. Adrian Sutil
