Why are we here? What is the soul...

I just watched the season finale of Heroes
I'm really satisfied with how they resolved things. The story came to an end and it was rather quiet. Not too much "we have to do something special cause this is a finale" stuff but still a special episode.
For a while I really considered it possible that they wouldn't be able to change the future. That would have been mean but also kinda cool and new. And after all Heroes is a pretty dark show.
So in the end - while Peter, Claire, Hiro and everyone else sure played their parts - it was Nathan who saved New York. I didn't like him very much throughout the season but in the last few episodes he grew on me. He really wanted to "heal" the world, didn't he? And he thought that the .07% were the price they had to pay. But in the end he realized that you can't start healing the world with letting millions of people die.
So the final scene... "I love you." - "I love you, too." The Petrellis will never be able to compare to the Winchester brothers, but: Awwwww! I just have a thing for brotherly love. I wonder where that comes from. *looks at Sam and Dean*
I also seem to have a thing for the younger one of two brothers. *looks at Chris, Sam and Peter*
By the way: Peter did survive, didn't he? I mean, Nathan didn't bring him as far as into the space so he'd be like floating around up there forever. And if he can survive the explosion then he can easily survive falling back down to earth from whatever height. Right? I want him back in season two.
Just one thing: If Claire had shot Peter and that really had stopped him from exploding, wouldn't he have healed and everything'd have been fine? He has died and healed again. He survived exploding in the other future. Being shot really shouldn't be a problem at all.
Anyway, "Chapter 1" came to an end. Sylar is dead, Nathan sacrificed himself, Parkman will hopefully survive and I'm really curious what "Chapter 2" will be about.
