Kripke! Would you please stop doing that to me.

We begin with a guy and a girl, Angela who has a broken heart and Neil her best friend who secretly has a crush on her. Did anyone notice the M&Ms on the table? Her ex boyfriend shows up, she runs away, he calls her, she get's angry, there's a car accident and she dies. Stupid girl. And I'm sitting in front of my screen slightly confused because that wasn't exactly something supernatural. Let's wait and see.
Btw. wasn't Summer Glau supposed to play that girl?

Meanwhile our boys are on the way to visit their mothers grave because Sam wants too. Dean doens't really see the point since there was no body to bury and it's just a "slab of granite" but he'll rather go there than wait for Sam at the Roadhouse. I take that as a good sign.

"I love you, Mom."

Oh, Sammy. *hugs* The thought that she acctually is gone, really gone forever because she destroyed herself in "Home" just hit me again there.

Dean discovers a perfect circle of dead plants around Angela's grave. Of course he thinks that something supernatural is going on. Sam doesn't, whyever. I know Sam thinks/knows that Dean's still not dealing with John's death but this does look like a hunt.

They pay Angela's father, Dr. Mason, a visit and while they are talking to him about his loss Sam looks at Dean pretty much all the time. Dean finds some ancient greek book but they don't really find out anything.

Sam still thinks there is no hunt. Erm, Sam? A perfect circle of dead plants? What other explanation than unholy ground do you have? But Sam's obviously too concerned about Dean not dealing and he even offers Dean to hit him again. Sammy, you'd really do anything if you thought it could help, wouldn't you?

We see Matt, Angela's ex at home watching home videos with the two of them. The plant on the table dies, Angela's refextion appears on the tv screen. Then there's blood.

When Dean comes back from Angela's roomate Lindsay who told him how great Angela was and how sad she is about Matt's death he - you won't believe it - almost catches Sam watching porn.
"Awkward"

"Casa Erotica Four" Bwahhh! Well, Sarah's far away and a guy has needs. Can I give him a hand please see what's on the harddrive of the - now destroyed - Laptop of Knowledge?
Sorry. Back to the story:

"Where in the hell were you?"
"Working my imaginary case."
"Yeah? And?"
"Well, you were right, I didn't find much. Yeah. Except Angela's boyfriend died last night. Slit his own throat. But, you know, that's normal. Let's see, what else? Oh, he was seeing Angela everywhere before he died. But you know, I'm sure that's just me transferring my own feelings."

Everyone convinced now that there is a hunt? *looks at Sam*

Dean stole Angela's diary and found her "bestest friend in the whole wide world" Neil's name. So Sam and Dean, the college's grief councelors, pay him a visit. Honestly, how do you come up with things like "grief councelors". They don't find out much just about Angela but Neil tells them that Matt was cheating on her and now their angry spirit theorie makes some sense. Dean decides to do what he's best at: Burn the bones.

"Burn the bones? Are you high?"

Okay, burn the bones and the rest of the body, except that there is no body. The grave's empty. And Angela is at Neil's. But she doesn't really look... alive. So this is about necromancy, zombies. Angela reminds me a little of the Women in White in appearance.

Sam and Dean discover some ancient greek at the inside of the coffin which makes Dr. Mason their prime suspect. Dean confronts him while Sam's having doubts because their are plants who look pretty alive and he trys to calm his brother down. But Dean's too angry to listen till Mason threatens to call the police.
I was a bit confused about Dean saying "What's dead should stay dead!" a few times during the episode. I was sure that it had something to do with John but it didn't seem to make a lot of sense. I had to wait till the end of the episode to understand what it was about.

After they left the house Sam tries to talk to Dean once more. He's really worried about his brother and unlike Dean in season one who was probably just as worried about Sam back then Sam's showing it.

"Dean, I don't scare easy, but man, you're scaring the crap out of me."
"Don't be overdramatic, Sam."
"You're lucky this turned out to be a real case. Because if it wasn't you would have just found something else to kill. You're on edge, you're erratic. Except for when you're hunting, because then you're downright scary. You're tailspinning, man. And you refuse to talk about it and you won't let me help you."
"I can take care of myself, thanks."
"No, you can't. And you know what? You're the only one who thinks you should have to. You don't have to handle this on your own, Dean. No one can."
"Sam, if you bring up Dad's death one more time I swear..."
"Stop. Please, Dean, it's killing you. Please. We've already lost Dad. We've lost Mom. I've lost Jessica. And now I'm going to lose you too?"

Dean doesn't really react there and then but I think Sam having lost everyone and now being afraid to lose the only person left is what got through to him. What made him talk to his brother in the end. And there's at least some reaction there and then:

"I hear you. Okay? Yeah, I'm being an ass. I'm sorry. But right now we've got a frigging zombie running around, and we need to figure out how to kill it. Right?"
"Our lives are weird, man."

Okay, zombie first talking later. There's just one problem: How do you kill a zombie?

"You're telling me there's no lore on how to smoke them."
"No, Dean, I'm telling you there's too much. I mean, there's a hundred different legends on the walking dead, but they all have different methods for killing them. Some say setting them on fire, one said... where is it? Right here. Feeding their hearts to wild dogs. That's my personal favorite. I mean, who knows what's real and what's myth?"

They take their best guess: Silver to kill her and Neil as the person who brought her back. At least they're right about one thing.

"It's your grief counselors! We've come to hug!"

Neil's house is empty but they find the basement where Angela hides.

"Unless it's where he keeps his porn..."

Sammy...?

"You think Angela's going after somebody?"
"Nah, I think she went out to rent Beaches."

(I should stop quoting half of the episode)

Matt was killed because he cheated on Angela. Lindsay was really broken up about Matt's death. Draw your conclusion. Sam and Dean save Lindsay and shoot Angela with silver bullets. They seem to hurt her but they don't really work. The Winchester boys need a plan B. Like nailing Angela into her gravebed.
They pay Neil a visit and Dean tells him something about a ritual they have to perform at the graveyard to kill Angela. It works. Angela heard them and wants to stop them with Neil's help. But since Neil is afraid of her now and tries to leave she kills him. I guess zombies stop being nice to you as soon as you stop doing what they want you too.

At the graveyard Sam plays the bait and almost get's his neck broken. That was close. But all works out well except for Sam's (and Jared's) broken hand. Poor baby. The job's done and they leave.
Back on the road Dean suddenly pulls the car to the side and get's out:

"Dean, what is it?"
"I'm sorry."
"For what?"
"The way I've been acting? And for Dad. He was your dad too. And it's my fault he's gone."
"What are you talking about?"
"I know you've been thinking it. So have I. Doesn't take a genius to figure it out. Back at the hospital, I made a full recovery. It was a miracle. And five minutes later Dad's dead and the Colt's gone."
"Dean..."
"You can't tell me there's not a connection there. I don't know how the demon was involved. I don't know how the whole thing went down exactly. But Dad's dead because of me. And that much I do know."
"We don't know that. Not for sure."
"Sam. You and Dad... you're the most important people in my life. And now... I never should have come back, Sam. It wasn't natural. And now look what's come of it. I was dead. And I should have stayed dead. You wanted to know how I was feeling. Well, that's it. So tell me what could you possibly say to make that all right?"

OMG! Dean's crying. And when he was saying "What's dead should stay dead!" he was talking about himself. Dean, you weren't dead yet, just close to it. Sam, would you please hug your brother? Just this once.

I'll go pick up the pieces of my heart. Again.
