Australia 2008

What a way to start the season. After not even one lap all three of my favourite drivers were out. For a moment I considered just going back to sleep.
I don't even know what exactly happened to them. I think I saw Ant hitting Nakajima. Mark was suddenly standing in the box the mechanics working on the car. And Jenson's car was very unstable seemingly after a collision. For a while I hoped that it was just a flat tyre and he'd be able to go on until after what seemed like forever they showed him again having retired. :(

The good news: Judging from Barichello's race the new Honda seems to be okay. Way better than I had expected after the winter. If they can keep that level I'm optimistic than Jenson can get points on a regular basis. If they can improve we might even be able to look forward to seeing Jenson back on the podium.

All in all an interesting race. It's great to see how close the teams are. I very much enjoyed the fight between Alonso and Kovalainen in the second but last lap. I just hope we'll see less accidents in the future and more drivers finishing the race. Timo's accident looked bad. I'm glad he's okay but I can't believe the track is in a condition like that.
