Watch closely!

It's Misha's birthday today, so there won't be any negativity in this blog. And you know what, that works better with the new trailer than I thought it would. Want to know why?
Because this is too obviously telling us that our Cas is gone. And while this felt like someone had just shot me the first time I watched it, especially with this wording that is obviously directed at his fans directly, I'm now almost convinced they are toying with us.
If they truly hated us - as in the people who care about Cas - that much, they'd have started ignoring us by now. But they don't. They suddenly make it all about Castiel, and even if we did annoy them with telling them over and over that we want our angel to be saved, going on such an open war with a big part of your fandom doesn't make sense. Particuarly since with making everything about Cas all of a sudden, they potentially piss off the rest of the fandom as well.
What they're doing is still pretty cruel, and on the night before Misha's birthday of all days, but that's always been Supernatural for you.
In this show, if they torture your favourite character this much, it usually means he IS loved and important.
But all that aside, here is what really changed my mind about this:
Someone pointed out that Misha seems to be playing both sides of Castiel in this promo - bless his awesome acting skills.
Godstiel is obviosuly.
But look at the scene were he is all bloody? See how confused he looks there? Like he hardly knows who or what he is? I could swear that that is our Cas, guys. I don't know if it's his last moments, I surely hope it's not, but I'm almost positive it's him.
And if I'm right: Welcome back, Cas. It's okay, we got you.

Date: 2011-08-20 07:45 am (UTC)I'm with you on this. I think they are just dicking with us. Maybe they are setting us up for another uncredited Guest Star thing like Mark later on. I'm hopeful but cautious. Only a little over a month go though so we'll know soon.

Date: 2011-08-20 07:59 am (UTC)You know, they are throwing all that "Cas is gone" stuff at us so much by now, that I just can't believe it any more. Maybe I'm just desperate and don't want to believe it, quite possible. I'm also not saying that they won't kill our angel off, I'm still terrified that they might. But I'm cautiously starting to believe that maybe they did get the message, and they just love fucking with us too much to let us know yet. Which is still cruel, but if they pull it off, I think I might be willing to forgive them for that.

Date: 2011-08-21 11:06 am (UTC)Every character on this show has to go through hell - sometimes literally - before they can come back. So that's not a surprise. The important thing for me is that our angel does come back in the end.
