So, Crowley...

I've come to the conclusion that Crowley will probably be the key to everything in the season 6 finale. So here are a few thoughts and theories. Mainly because Mark Sheppard is my designated liar, who plays me like a fiddle, and gives mean little hints with a mean little smile without actually giving anything away at all.
Question #1: Who is Crowley really?
littlehollyleaf came up with the theory that Crowley may really be an angel. Funnily enough, that had crossed my mind too, with the finger snapping and the fact that we never see his eyes. I dropped this theory for various reasons: We know who Crowley was as a human, his house had angel proofing in the very first episode, and Cas should be able to identify him as a fellow angel.
But one fact remains: He knows an awful lot about Heaven and God, and he understands exactly what drives Castiel. Also, for a demon who isn't even 400 years old he has a lot of power. He's the King of Hell, after all. It's hard to believe that there isn't still more to him than we know.
So what if Crowley was an angel once, but he fell (or "sauntered vaguely downwards"), became human, died and became a demon, with a whole lot of knowledge about Heaven still, any maybe even back in possession of his Grace in one form or another.
By the way, Mark did mention "Good Omens" a whole lot at the con, and how Supernatural's Crowley was based on Pratchett's and Gaiman's Crowley. May just be Mark having spent a lot of time with Neil Gaiman, may be a hint. Who knows?
Another idea that came up during the con was what if Crowley is actually God? Testing Castiel now like he tested the Winchesters last season. (Of course that'd give his "You love God, and God loves you" speech a whole new meaning). That theory was initially meant as a joke, but by now I'm not so sure any more if it's really that ridiculous.
Question #2: What is Crowley's agenda?
I don't think that there is much doubt that Crowley will screw Cas over in some way. My first idea was that Crowley may really working with Raphael but that doesn't make much sense. Crowley doesn't want the Apocalypse back. I'm sure Lucifer will not let Crowley keep his position as King of Hell once he's back, and I believe Crowley's main reason to help the boys get Lucifer out of the way was to take over from the very start.
Right now Crowley pretends that he wants a balance between Heaven's and Hell's power so everyone can happily go their own way. As if!
My theory - assuming Crowley is NOT God - is that Crowley has a very similar deal to the one he has with Castiel with Raphael as well. Find Purgatory, get out all those souls, then give one half to Castiel, the other half to Raphael and let them fight it out. One party will be out of the way entirely, the other will be gravely weakened, and Crowley can pretty much just march into Heaven and take over there as well. Doesn't that sound just like our favourite demon?
Thoughts? Theories? Other ideas? Feel free to share, but no spoilers please. I'm trying to stay as spoiler free as I can for the finale.
