I'm back from a fun Asylum 6.
No detailed con report this time from me, I'm sure there are plenty out there. I brought tons of pictures instead. I'll post them panel by panel, so expect picspams in the next few days. My photo-ops will follow as soon as I get them. So far, I only have my Richard op. I'm still missing Mark and Richard, Cindy, Gen, and Danneel.
The guests:
Jensen and Jared were a lot of fun, and in a really good mood. Particularly Jensen on Saturday. I really don't have to say that much about them. I mean, you know the guys. They are great, I love seeing them, but I will always prefer and feel like I get more from the "smaller" guests. Which isn't the Js fault at all. It's just that they are the stars, so things are less relaxed around them.
Richard was sweet and amazing as always. I had one Coffee Lounge with him, and he remembered me when I got my photo taken with him later. He brought his buddy Sam and they played for us. Twice. "I only love you when I'm drunk" turned into something like the official Asylum 6 song. Go and check it out, I'm sure it's on YouTube somewhere. It's such a fun song. Not sure if Brock and Cindy feel the same way though. ;)
Mark, what can I say. He's Mark Fraking Sheppard, guys. He knows a lot about the business and, at the same time, is the biggest sci-fi-fan ever. He even wore a Weeping Angels t-shirt during our Coffee Lounge. ♥ If you ever do just one Coffee Lounge at a convention, make it one with Mark. They are the best ones I've ever been to (and I have been to Misha's, too). Mark told us to look at him as our very own designated liar, and he pretty much ordered people to illegally download the episodes (since we buy the DVDs later, anyway). and there is definitely a lot of Crowley in him, when he starts teasing us about the finale. Mean! ;)
Cindy rocks! I still don't like where they took that storyline involving her on the show, but that's Show, this is Cindy, and I love her. Strong woman with a sense of humour when the guys try to tease her, and a really nice girl. She's also very, very pretty.
Brock had it tough this weekend. Everyone kept teasing the pretty boy, but he took it well. He's a little shy, but he does slowly warm up when Cindy is around. And he's a really sweet guy.
Fred was his usual self. He really loves doing conventions, doesn't he?
It was so great of Gen and Danneel to be there for one day for autographs and photos - the money for which will go to Charity from what I hear, which makes it even more awesome. I don't think they regretted it. I told Danneel Happy Anniversary during our photo op which she seemed to appreciate. And Gen looked so surprised and happy about the way people treated her. It's so sweet, but a little sad too. I think he honestly expected people to hate her. We don't, sweety!
When I went to get the first batch of autographs on Saturday, there was literally no one in line for Jensen. I have no idea how that happened. He was just sitting there, looking a little bored and texting. So I went up to him, he finished texting, then looked up to me and smiled and then it went something like this:
Jensen: "Hi!"
Me: "Hi! Your line is really short, isn't it?"
Jensen: "Yeah. It wasn't a minute ago."
Me: "So, I'm just lucky then?"
Jensen: "Seems like it."
Cindy loved my name, and Mark smiled at me - which affected me way more than Jensen's smile. Yes, I'm weird, why do you ask? ;).
I had a photo and my Band of Brother's DVD set to sign for Richard. I told him that I had only started watching BoB because he talked so fondly about it, and I thanked him for that. He asked me if I had enjoyed it, and I told him something along the lines that I did and that it was very moving (Richard, I just thanked you for making me watch it. That should have given you a clue. ;)). He signed with his name and his character's name and added two little arrows, explaining to me that he was on the cover twice for some reason.
The Saturday concert was unbelievable. It started as a normal, great as always Jason concert. And then Jason got Richard and Sam on stage, and later Fred to play for us. Then he asked Brock up with him for "Crazy Love" as a substitute for Jensen. Poor Brock had no idea. Then Richard and Sam came back to play "Only love you when I'm drunk" for Brock and Cindy - who again had no idea. And then Jason played some more with all the guests (Richard, Fred, Cindy and Brock) on stage, because the crowd and the atmosphere was just so amazing. This was when Fred decided to randomly drag people next to the stage to dance. I was one of them. And suddenly I found myself on stage, where I danced with Fred, who talks dirty when he dances with you. I'm not even kidding. And Brock, after exchanging a "What the Hell is going on here?" looks. And Richard, but he was more busy dragging more people on stage. And Cindy, who high-five'd us at the end, and then pointed at Brock going: "So, that's my boyfriend, according to..." *shrugs*
So, yeah, definitely did not expect that to happen.
Last but not least, thank you so much

Date: 2011-05-17 10:47 am (UTC)Bwahahaha. Could it get any better? Fred really loves to dance, though, apparently. At a previous Asylum con, he danced a little with me when I came up for the photo op with him. Like out of the blue. LOL You obviously got the bonus version with the dirty talk ^-^
ETA: Why are you missing so many photo ops? Did you have to leave early or did they have problems printing?

They had to print autograph pictures for the girls, since that wasn't planned at all. Of course that delayed printing the photo ops. The fire alarm in Sunday night didn't exactly help either - you guys have heard about that one by now, right? - so basically, they just didn't get any further with printing, but we were promised they'd send them to us asap.

Date: 2011-05-17 11:02 am (UTC)Fire alarm? No, haven't heard of that yet? Hope it was only a false alarm and no actual fire. I just imagine tons of people in their PJs in the halls LOL
In fact, yours is the only report I've read so far. I was working the whole weekend and now it's back in class. I missed the whole shebang.

Date: 2011-05-17 11:21 am (UTC)Yes, those girls. I hope you'll get them too this weekend. From what I saw, everyone was really nice to them, so they might have an autograph and a photo session again.

Not in the halls, outside actually. Where it was pretty cold. It wasn't that late though, fortunately. Around 10 maybe.
It was sort of a false alarm. They forgot to turn off the smoke maschine in the main hall.
Oh, and the next morning the toaster in the breakfast room caught fire. Must have been too man hot guys in one hotel or something. ;)

I think I read it somewhere on Twitter. So I'm not entirely sure if it's actually true, but I hope it is.

It was so great to meet you! I'm always amazed how easy it is to interact with fangirls, but this time I was completely blown away by the kindness I met. Thank you so much for making my weekend really wonderful!

Date: 2011-05-26 07:31 am (UTC)It was so great to meet you too! I hope our constant talking about Misha and Castiel (and Balthazar and Sebastian, in my case) wasn't too tiring.
