Asylum 5: Saturday
Nov. 2nd, 2010 05:33 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
First of all I have to say that this time things ran really smoothly. Apart from Saturday morning we were pretty much always on time which has to be a first. There was no standing around in queues for ages either and despite having 6 photo ops and two coffee lounges I missed very little of the panels. The attendees were amazing too, there where hardly any inappropriate questions and the guests were simply fantastic and just had a great chamistry together.
Misha, Aldis, Julie, Jake, Fred and Jason Panel
The day started with a panel where they had all guests on stage. I wasn't too sure about that but they worked so well together that this panel was a real treat with quite some bantering back and forth. It also helped that they mostly got questions to all of them. Things I remember in no particular order:
Misha Coffee Lounge
Next was Misha's coffee lounge. There were too many people in the room, in Misha's coffee lounge as well as in the one with Mark on Sunday. But it was still fun.
Misha Panel
From Misha's coffee lounge, which was preceeded by his photo op, I went straight to Misha's panel. Yes, I had a very Misha heavy morning which is definitely a nice way to start a con. And since they had a white backgound at the stage this time I even have a few photos I can show you - even though my camera still suchs so they aren't great but better than any I took at a convention before:

Jake and Julie panel

Those two had such an amazing chemistry even though they claimed they had only met that morning for the first time.
Fredric Panel
Autographs Misha Jake and Jukie
I was supposed to get my autographs on Sunday but they moved faster than expected so it already was my turn pretty early on Saturday afternoon. I wasn't really prepared, my photo ops weren't printed out yet so I rushed upstairs to get a photo of Misha I had bought in May to get it signed. I didn't have anything but the con booklet for Julie and Jake and they didn't have any photos of them left to buy. That was a little sad.
Jake asked me where my name originates. He also was the only one of the three who personalised my autograph.
Julie was very cute and wearing a cat mask but I didn't really talk to her in the autograph room.
Misha had the longest queue at his table. Like I said, I really wasn't prepared to get my autographs that day and couldn't think of anything to say to him, apart from "Hi." because I felt I wasn't even quite there. Misha signed my picture (he wasn't allowed to personalise even though it seemed he wanted to :( ) and then held the photo without giving it back to me and looked at me like he was waiting for something. I looked back at him questioningly.
Misha: "So, how are you doing?"
Me: "Fine, thanks." (Like I said, I wasn't really quite there and could not think of anything to say.)
Misha: "See you again later?"
Me: "Yes, of course."
And then he gave me back my picture and winked at me. D'awww! I'm so sorry I was such a bad conversational partner this time, Mish.
Aldis Panel
Because of the autographs I was late for Aldis's panel so I was sitting in th back of the room and I was still a little busy kicking myself for rushing through the autogaphs like that and not talking to Misha a little more. Aw, well.
All guests
The last panel of the day was all guests back on stage again.
- Misha's most memorable Halloween costume was his first one. He wanted to be a turtle and his costume was made from a cardboard box. He couldn't stand, only crawl in it. When he went to go trick&treating with is Mom they didn't even make it to the first house because he was so miserable he was in tears.
- When Misha was about 16 he dressed up in drag for Halloween. He was very pretty and some of his friends didn't recognise him and hit on him. Vicki told him to please never do that again.
- Aldis danced, because he promised. That was right after he told us that for some reason fans always tell him he promised something while he is very sure that that promise never came out of his mouth. But you try to say no when the fans go all "But you promised!" at you.
- Misha says the first rule of naked twister club is probably that you don't talk about it.
- They were asked what's on their bucket list. First they pretended not to know what that is talking about pretty buckets they had at home. Fred has already done anything on his bucket list, Jake figures that he still has time to make one, Aldis wants to jump off a plane but he figures that, if he doesn't get around to it, they can still throw his body out a plane and then he'll just watch it from above: "There I go! Open your parachute, oben your parachute! Awww damn, too late.". Misha wants to learn how to fly only using his arms. He also wants to be black. Aldis first said he can't help himw ith that but then tried to teach him how to say "Wassup, people." which Misha asways turned into a very well pronounced "What is up, people."
Misha Coffee Lounge
Next was Misha's coffee lounge. There were too many people in the room, in Misha's coffee lounge as well as in the one with Mark on Sunday. But it was still fun.
- Misha was wearing the brown jacket which is definitely my favourite item of clothing of his. I love this jacket.
- Someone asked Misha if Dean still had the hand print on his shoulder and Misha said he has. Someone brought up that it wasn't there during the sex scene with Lisa but that is because it was a dream. I'm not sure Misha's arguments made a lot of sense but here is approximately what he told us why it wasn't there: Apparently you don't have sex dreams about your own wife. He doesn't believe that but it's what he heard. This is, he assumes, because Dean wouldn't dream about something he'd get on a daily basis anyway. In other words: Apparently Castiel is Dean's wife.
- Was the handprint actually his? Yes, but it was very painful because him order for him to burn this handprint on Jensen's shoulder his own hand had to be very hot and he got a lot of blisters.
- Misha specifically picked the room for the coffee lounge because the pattern of the carpet was perfect for naked twister.
- We talked about Castiel's air quotes and a little while later Misha used air quotes in an answer without even realising it which made the whole room laugh.
- Misha got his first turnips and asked what you can actually do with them. He decided on soup.
- During his run ("It wasn't really fast but it wasn't a walk") Misha listened to all kinds of music, depending on what he needed at that moment to keep him going and about 5 or 6 hours of podcasts. He mentioned two: "Moth" ("like the insect") and one I can't remember.
- SPOILER Misha talked about a future episode where they break the fourth wall like they never did before. He said they don't just jump the shark but do a somersault over it with this. I think he says it'll be by Ben Edlund - but that may have been another episode he was talking about. I'm not sure any more - and if they go with it it is going to be amazing.
- Castiel has four faces: a lamb, a zebra, a cat and a monkey. The cat and the monkey fight sometimes. If Castiel had a Twitter account he would tweet about flea collars for his four faces.
- When he was a child he'd have a bear trap for Santa each year. They'd put milk and cookies in it and hope to catch him because he'd have all the presents for all the kids with him whch would be a pretty good price. Misha's Dad later, during the M&G, confirmed that this was actually true.
- Misha wen to a santacon where a few hundred people dress up as Santa, drive around in a bus and get drunk. They also crashed a christmas scene at a shopping mall where children could take a picture with Santa and traumatised them.
- The dumbest thing he ever did while drunk was dancing on and throwing a pumpin off a bill board.
- Stonehenge Apocalypse is hs proudest moment on film. He took it very seriously and pondered how Brando would say "It was a robot head". He then explained to us that SyFy movies are meant to be watched by a drunk audience who didn't see the beginning of the movie but are still supposed to understand what's going on. So they write very dumb scripts and then the network sends them to a rewrite to make it dumber.
- Beating up Jensen was a life long ambition of his so he is glad they caught it on film. He was only told afterwards that he's not actually supposed to hit people.
- Misha was very proud about getting blacker all the time when he told us that he likes to "hang out with his homies"
- Misha likes Jared better than Jensen even though having Jensen over is nice because he tends to fix things around the house. He imitated Jensen finding this statement on YouTube being all said about it but said it is true. Then he said he actually hates them both and it's just a question of the lesser of two evils. He can only imagine what it must be like to go to work with a nice guy like Mark Harmon every day instead of two assholes like Jared and Jensen.
- Misha complained that almost all the questions where about his character ("So you guys actually watch the show?") and demanded more non-Castiel questions.
- Misha has no idea what "I spent the last year as a multidimensional wavelenght of celestial intent" means. He tried to figure it out but it just didn't make any sense. He assumes that Ben Edlund only wrote it in to laugh at him saying it. He also pondered whether it means angels exists as particles or wavelenghts. Apparently both is from Einstein's earlier work.
- If Misha could teleport anywhere he would teleport into the oval office and on the top of Mount Everest so he could say he was on the top without even lying.
- There was a question about problems with religion because of the show. Misha said that he told some reporters that during the scene, where he brings back Dean after beating him up, he realised that the paper flying around was actually a torn up bible. After that he got two mails from the WB who tried to keep that statement of print and asked Misha to please never tell anyone about that again. Which he obviously ignored but then again, it was only us and of course we would never put it online or anything. ;)
- At the end of the panel Misha got some confetti to reenact the "Confetti! It's a parade!" scene. But instead of telling you about this one I'm just going to show it to you:
Jake and Julie panel
Those two had such an amazing chemistry even though they claimed they had only met that morning for the first time.
- Jake asked Julie: "Is this your actual hair colour." - "No, I'm really blond. Yours?" - "No, I'm really a red head."
- Question: "Have you ever been star struck" - Julie: "Yes, right now." - Jake: "Is Misha here?". Jake was star struck when he met Minnie Mouse. She is "the mouse I want to be". He also said that Minnie is like the Opera of mice and Julie asked him if that means he wants to be Opera.
- Julie doesn't think Anna picked the exact moment in time to go back to and kill John when Mary was already pregnant so she could save Dean. She said she was sorry she gave such a negative answers but she believes it was just a fluke. She doesn't think Anna loves Dean and after being dragged back to Heaven she didn't care she just wanted to save the world.
- Jake does a great Dean impression and Julie gave us a Castiel stare.
Fredric Panel
- Fred couldn't see with the yellow contact lenses so a grip had to hold his hand and lead him around which makes Azazel seem a lot less threatening.
- Someone asked him if, since Mary had to kiss Azazel to bring John back to life, John had to kiss Azazel to bring Dean back to life. Fred: "I'm confused. And a little aroused."
- Fred picks his shows by the location it is filmed in.
Autographs Misha Jake and Jukie

Aldis Panel
Because of the autographs I was late for Aldis's panel so I was sitting in th back of the room and I was still a little busy kicking myself for rushing through the autogaphs like that and not talking to Misha a little more. Aw, well.
- Aldis talked about how surprised he was at his first convention that people even remembered his character, cared and asked him questions. He then figured out that killing Sam may be a pretty big deal for us. He also mentioned the Leverage convention and overall talked mainly about Leverage.
- Aldis was asked abut Doctor Who and went "Doctor Who, who?"
- Aldis wants a convention where they are the attendees and get to ask us questions.
- At the end of his panel he asked his Mom on stage and got us to sing Happy Birthday for her.
All guests
The last panel of the day was all guests back on stage again.
- What are they doing for Christmas: Misha goes on their annual reindeer hunt with his Dad. Aldis asked his Mom what he's doing for Christmas.
- What super power do they want: Jason and Jake would fly, Fred would make people kind, Aldis would make people kind while flying and Misha would be able to get dressed without getting out of bed.
- If they could play any other character on the show, who would it be: Jason would be the Trickster, Aldis would be Sam because he always comes back from the dead, Jake would be Misha, Misha would be stunt demon number two and Julie would be young Mary (Misha's second choice).

Date: 2010-11-02 06:12 pm (UTC)Reading about Aldis makes me want to organize a Leverage convention in Italy. I'd like to see him and Mark Sheppard with the others. Aldis seems to be also a nice guy XD I loved the part with him and Misha and the " Wassup, people"
Misha's facial expressions sometimes are astonishing. The first photo makes me laugh a lot, he's... absolutely absurd.
Bo-hoo, mean Ben Edlung, he loves to tease Misha, or it's only my impression? I heard the episode 5x04 commentary and Edlung was so tricky when he was talking about future!cass XD
If Misha could teleport anywhere he would teleport into the oval office and on the top of Mount Everest so he could say he was on the top without even lying. <--- He's the Overlord, after all.
And you talked about SA also! Aw, that film is one of my favourite, so funny and interesting at the same time.
Maybe Misha recognise you at the autographs? Like, he watched the old photo and he remembered, or something like that. Or he's simply the awesome kind man who he is.
I adored this part also: Aldis was asked abut Doctor Who and went "Doctor Who, who?"
Lol, because of this I remembered the Catherine Tate show

Aldis is an incredibly nice guy. I think we all fell in love with him a little bit.
Huh, I don't know if Ben Edlund loves to tease Misha. I never thought about that but he might.
I love SA. This movie is so cracktastic! And Misha seems to have had a lot of fun doing it.

He just is incredibly kind (and awesome). He still might have recognised me. He did at my photo op with him and Mark. Well, as long as he doesn't think I'm stalking him... ;)
Awww! The clip from the Catherine Tate show. I haven't seen this one in ages.
