Yeah, book shops. It's a different feeling from libraries but I can spent hours there too. A state library of foreign literature sounds like the place to get locked in for the weekend or something. ;)
I can hardly imagine a univerity without a library. About the first thing we were told at our uni was: "There's the library. Use it as often as you can."
