It's Seat Yourself, Pretty Eyes

So many things to talk about, so many feeling. I don't even know where to start with this episode.
No, that's a lie. Of course I know exactly where to start:
TOBY!
You know, as convinced as I was that he wasn't dead, the moment he turned around, and we saw him and knew for sure... I almost started crying. And the best thing about it, we didn't just get Toby back, we got OUR Toby back. The one we've always loved and trusted. And we got TobyAndSpencer back.
"What we had was real."
They still have a lot to talk about, and to work through. And I was surprised at how quickly their relationship went from cautious and strained back to comfortable and trusting. They just fell back into it.
It happened a little too quickly, to be honest, but can't being myself to really care about that. I missed those two together so much. I missed how relaxed Spencer is when she is with Toby. How much you can see she feels safe. And how much Toby feels wanted, and needed.
Just like I expected, Spencer understands why Toby chose this path, because she has now chose it herself. And I think that is what made her push all the remaining open questions away for now. But they cannot be ignored.
I want the show to bring up all the unresolved issues. They are important and need dealing. The lies that have been told. I'm glad that Toby had nothing to do with his faked death, but what made Toby decide to keep the pretence up while Spencer was completely breaking apart? It is obvious how tough it was for him, how much he struggled, and regretted it even if he had a good reason and would do the same thing again. I want to know when and why exactly Toby joined the A-Team. I want everything resolved so there is no doubt left.
But for now, I'm just glad that we have Toby back, and with him Spencer mostly back to her old self as well.
And to come from Spencer's side: So she joined mostly for Toby, just like Toby joined for her. Mona had the one thing Spencer could not ignore: The promise that Toby is still alive. It's pretty dark to turn on your friends like that, but Spencer very quickly found a way to contact them, giving them a way to confront her and therefore learn the truth. Sending Hanna the picture and then trusting the girls to be smart enough to figure it out, the other girls' plan to find out what Spencer is really up to. You go, girls!
Mona:
Funny, isn't it? How Mona's story isn't really all that different from Toby's and Spencer's in the end. Seeing her that desperate when the girls screwed with her plans made it pretty damn clear that she is just as much a victim as they all are. A is playing them all like pieces in her own personal game. Remember how, after season 2, we thought we knew who A was. Turns put we didn't know a thing.
I won't even attempt to list all the people A has under her control one way or another. They probably all have a story not too different from Mona's, Toby's, or Spencer's.
I wonder if her part will truly change now. If the girls will accept her as one of them.
Red Coat:
I haven't read the books, but I have heard of the twin theory of course (though I don't know anything about it other than that it's about Alison having a twin). I'm pretty sure that is where they are going. Too many people have seen Alison at some point. So either it is her twin or... have we actually ever seen her body?
And do we even know if Red Coat is THE A? Or might she actually someone who is trying to help the girls and protect them from A?
Other things:
I wonder what the hand from the grave is all about. We had a very similar scene at the end of the Halloween episode, and it was never explained. Now we got a second one, at it is still just as strange.
I'm still a little confused about the lighter someone from the A-Team dropped next to Toby. My first thought was that A was trying to frame him for the fire. Destroy the possibly still somewhat shaky new-found trust between him and the girls again. But with Toby waking up before anyone found him, that doesn't really work out.
I had kinda hoped that they would expand the Spencer as part of the A-Team storyline a bit more. I wanted a contest of wit between Spencer and A. We seem to be pretty much back to normal now. As far as there is a "normal" in Rosewood.
and now it's almost three long months before we find out what or who it is the girls found in that trunk. But I'm okay with that. Everything I desperately needed to know before the hiatus, I got. With both of my favourite characters back to somewhat okay, at least for now, I can wait.
