gwaevalarin: (Jenson Jacques)
results )

After this desaster of a quali I was expecting Jenson's race to be pretty much over before it even started. But the race itself was really okay. Honda still needs to improve a lot but their pace in the race is not too bad. From 18th to 11th with a one stop strategy which means the car was heavy, I'm really content with that. I don't even really know how he got there. He just silenty made his way to the... well, middle. But what is it with their qualifying? Why doesn't that work at all? It's almost like Jenson's driving different car on Saturday. Of course this time he's had bad luck with Ant's accident at the end of Q1. Who knows, without that he may have made it into Q2 like Rubens did. I think Honda proved that Magny Cours wasn't just a one race improvement and I'm sure Jenson can fight for points on a regular basis now. He wasn't too far from that today, was he?

Ant's not really always showing his best at the moment. That mistake in the quali when he tried to warm up his tyres just shouldn't have happened with his experience. The problems he had today, I don't know what happened exactly but it probably was some mechanical problem. At least that's what it looked like. Poor guy. He was so looking forward to racing in England. He even tried to finish the race but the suddenly he was listed "out" again but they didn't show when he finally gave up.

Talking about Jenson and Ant, this is from the press conference from Thursday:
Question: Do you want him [AD] back?
Jenson: I think it is a bit unfair to try and steal him back from racing. I think he’s enjoying himself.

Say it with me: Awwww!
I have a solution for you guys: Ant has to drive for Honda next year. *g*

Alonso did a really good job again today. Oh, and when exactly did he start being nice and funny in interviews? I already noticed that last week and thought that it had to be a mistake or a strange day but today he was nice again. That's kinda scary. *hides behind Jenson*

Oh, and Christian, it was nice seeing you on the track again. *waves* I hope you enjoyed being allowed to drive. Even if I didn't really like the curmumstances.

My back hurts like hell. Dear back, in case you haven't noticed: I'v watched the English GP not taken part in it. Ouch!
