Jus In Bello 3
I'm back from JIB Con, caught up on some sleep, and now I'm trying to sort my thoughts, impressions and about 530 pictures.
First of all, I loved this convention. It was a little different from the ones I had been to before, and I'm not sure if I loved it more or less than the Rogue cons, but I had tons of fun.
The panels were brilliant and hilarious. All the guest were in a great mood.
The organisation worked really well too. I don't know what it was like for the other passes, but with my Angel Pass I don't think I ever had to wait more than 10 minutes in any line to get photo ops or autographs, and I barely missed any of the panels.
The only thing that really bugged me where some of the other fans. I'm particularly talking about people cluttering the hallways after the panel just to get another two seconds of one of the boys walking by. I can kind of understand that if you only have a Hunter Pass and aren't allowed into the main hall, but I saw that behaviour from a lot of people who had just left the hall after seeing the exact same actor on stage for 40 minutes.
And even worse: Some people in the bar Friday night. When the guys tell you that they'll be in the bar, of course it's okay to go there. It's equally okay to go over and talk to them. That's why they're going there instead of somewhere more private, to give you that chance. What's not okay is standing around them in a bulk and just taking pictures like they're some tourist attraction or something. Seriously, what the hell?
But all the amazing and funny and kind and insane-in-a-good-way people I met over the weekend more than made up for that. I'm sure you all know who you are. The con was great, you made it perfect.
As for the guests: Sebastian was the only one I hadn't met before, so I'll concentrate on him. Just know that everyone else was just as lovely as they always are.
I'm sure you've all seen videos of Sebastian on stage. That energy you see there? Nothing compared to when he is jumping around a few meters away from you. It needed a little time to adjust to that, to be quite honest. It was exhausting for me just to watch him. But once I got used to that he was just as funny and amazing as I had always imagined. And when you get the chance to meet him off stage, he is just lovely and amazing to talk to because he has something to say about freaking everything. That man is just amazingly intelligent and educated.
At his Meet&Greet I asked him about the scene I had heard he'd shot for The Man Who Would Be King. It took him a while to remember that he shot anything for that episode, and unfortunately he couldn't remember what it was.
He talked in Italian quite a lot. I did not understand a word of that but I quite enjoyed just listening to it.
He won't die in Criminal Minds (at least not this season).
He'd love to come back to Supernatural and have a scene with Mark's Lucifer and Gabriel.
He didn't know about the wing shot and agreed with us that this might mean Balthazar is still alive. Who knows?
He is pretty sure he will be back on at least one of his shows, but he couldn't tell us which one. (My guess is Fringe.)
He will start filming a horror movie in Romania soon where he will play a detective who investigates whatever it is that's going on which he wasn't allowed to tell us. (Here is a link Seb tweeted later)
He thought that Mikael was killed too soon on the Vampire Diaries. He and Joseph Morgan agreed that he should have been in the season finale. Sebastian thinks that the show's creators felt the Original storyline got too big (angel storyline on Supernatural, anyone?) and that his character didn't really fit in anyways because the show has such a young target audience.
He loved working with Joseph Morgan in TVD because they just had such a great chemistry. He'd have loved for Mikael to survive long enough to find out his wife is still alive.
His necklace is a leopard. He always wears it, it's his spirit animal.
He knows that his energy level goes through the roof when he goes on stage. He can't help it, and he almost aplogized saying that he thought he'd been a little calmer on Saturday already, right? He said he always has a lot of energy, but he also loves to be alone, on the top of a mountain after climbing for example.
He prefers emotional to physical acting.
He doesn't do drugs or even coffee simply because... can you imagine him on drugs or caffeinated?
He thought Balthazar would be back this season. He waited for the call but it just didn't come. He's unsure if he will come back now with Sera Gamble gone because she was the one who brought him into the show.
He loved The French Mistake.

Glad you had a good time, but sorry about the morons in the hallways and mobbing the actors at the bar. Alas, this fandom seems to have more than the usual amount of rude, entitled people. I even saw a video where some fangirls actually ambushed Jared, Jensen and others at the hotel where they were staying. Talk about OTT behavior. *sigh* This fandom, man.

I don't know if there are really any more personal stories to tell this time. Hm... Misha asked me when he'll meet me again. Twice. Not sure if that's sweet or if it means he's not listening to me. ;)
I think this con had more than the usual amount of rude, entitled people. I have never experienced anything like this at any of the other conventions I've been to. But ah, well, won't let that spoil the experience.

But Sebastian. I love him more and more.
I have not seen or met him mostly because I stopped going to conventions right when he started attending himself, and believe me I would kill to go to at least one more just to talk with him. He sounds absolutely amazing and friendly and adorable.

Awww, someone should have reassured him that Jeremy Carver is more likely to expand and explore minor/supporting characters and their backgrounds and relationships with others than Gamble ever did.

Sebastian is amazing. I think we did tell him that we prefer Carver over Gamble and that we're sure his taking over doesn't mean Balthazar can't come back anymore now.
