These are very interesting thoughts.

And he knows he'll lose that sooner rather than later, because Dean will find out what he did, and he won't forgive him. It looks like Castiel has already accepted that, and is now treasuring the last moments of their friendship.

Yes, it's like he's almost resigned already :(

About why Cas didn't call Balthazar: personally, I thought it was because it was too weak. Teleporting put a great strain on him but it needed to be done, 'cause Castiel needed a safe place. Once there he couldn't do anything else, he was too weak.

I think the only one who knows what Cas is up to is Balthazar. Maybe he even suggested it? IDK, I'm just speculating...
