Oh, shiny new metallike writing with a Devil's Trap right at the beginning. What? Metallicar-like? Oh. Uhm, whoops... *looks for her glasses*
Well, okay, maybe he wasn't quite expecting to walk into something like this (whatever "this" was). I really wanna know what Sam had seen. I'm just curious and it has nothing to do with seeing some naked Dean. Really, just curious. *coughs*
As for Dean: Somehow I get the feeling that noone can see that this is all just a facade Dean has built up. He has to convince his little brother and Bobby that he's totally okay with the deal he made with the crossroad demon. And he has to convince himself. So he's overacting, too chipper and too happy so that everyone can see that he's really alright with it!
And if he plays it long enough and especially loud enough he himself will start believing it eventually. Which is what he's aiming for, in my opinion.
It's just... look at Sam. My poor, broken boy who's desperatly looking for some hope. Hate to break it to you, but right now, Dean is suffering much more than Sammy. He just doesn't show it, because he's Dean Winchester. Nothing can affect him and he sure as hell won't talk about his feelings. Period. Although it'd be about damn time!
Who's gonna watch out for little Sammy when Dean's last year is over? Dean will be in hell and Bobby surely won't be around 24/7. Of course, Sam is a big boy, but for Dean he's still "just" his little brother. The one he took care of all the time. How's Sammy gonna survive in this evil world when Dean's not around anymore to protect him? That's something Dean didn't really think of when he had made the deal in AHBL2. But now it's slowly but surely making its way into his mind and Dean just can't handle it.
Our "old" Dean is somewhere underneath that facade. And I know Sammy well enough to know that it'll only be a matter of time until Sam can bring the "old" Dean back. Because you're right:
He'll be hurt but he will stay, whatever you do. He's your brother, remember?
And this? But maybe that's at least part of the plan. Annoying him? Pushing him away? This is exactly what Dean's aiming for. Making it "easier" for Sam when Dean has to leave this world.
As for the episode itself: I liked it. It's definitely not one of my favourites, because they should've taken some more time on telling how the sins affect the humans, but it wasn't as bad as "Bugs". At least. *g*
