Oh, I understand that, but alas, I don't think we can expect that from SPN. I get that Sam and Dean (Dean in particular) believe that all supernatural beings are in some way inferior to humans; what I don't get is why the show so blatantly endorses this point of view. It's unrealistic and annoying. Like you say: what is even the point of creating such diverse and complex characters if all we're left with in the end is their pointless death? :(
