Did Meg really openly admit to only wanting Castiel for his power, nothing more?
Not to Castiel, obviously. She's not stupid, but she did say it to Sam. Here is the quote I'm mainly getting it from, so you can decide for yourself. The scene is Sam and Meg talking about whom Cas would probably follow right now if they both asked him:
Sam: "What do you want with a broken angel. Don't be stupid." Meg: "I take power where I can get it. I've got myself to look out for."
There more I think about the episode, the more I'm under the impression that it was meant as hidden critizism of the show's standards. When Castiel says "You know me. Always happy to bleed for the Winchesters." there is a hint of sarcasm there that's not conistent with his current state of mind. Could be the suppressed, broken part of Castiel speaking. Could be Ben Edlund. Could be Misha. Or maybe a combination of all three.
