About the Elena and Elijah Situation
Oh, look, I can actually talk about shows other than Supernatural. I bet you didn't know that.
From what I hear, a lot of people seem to blame Elena for the choice she made in last night's episode.
Let me start by telling you that Elijah is my single favourite character on TVD. No competition.
Elena, on the other hand, I don't particularly care about. I don't dislike her or anything, either. I just feel pretty indifferent towards her.
That being said, I do not blame Elena for what she did.
Do I like it? Hell, no. I'm glad that Elijah is finally back, and the very last thing I want is to see him die.
But I understand why Elena did it.
Klaus is unpredictable and dangerous. And there is no way to kill him. So yeah, taking Esther's offer may not be a great plan, and I have a feeling that she will regret it, but it is the only choice Elena has if she wants to get rid of Klaus. If anyone can kill him, it's the original witch, don't you think?
She has Jeremy to think about, Alaric, Matt, Tyler is still under Klaus' influence, she can't know that Caroline is probably safe. I don't doubt that Elena genuinely likes Elijah, but I can't expect her to choose him over her family and friends. Just like he probably wouldn't choose her over his family if he knew what's happening.
So, yes, she lied to him and kinda stabbed him in the back, but choosing to sacrifice Elijah for the greater good was a tough decision for her. The scene at the party and the last scene made that very clear.
Not to mention that Elijah did almost the exact same thing when he was willing to sacrifice her to kill Klaus, which he didn't even go through with when he found out that his siblings were still, well, not exactly alive but you know what I mean, and that Klaus was the only one who could bring them back to him.
So when/if Elijah finds out what Elena did, I think he will be hurt, and I think he will be disappointed. But I also believe that, on some level, he will understand.
That being said, I pray that Elijah somehow survives this. I don't want to lose him again. Actually, I don't want to lose anyone of the Original Family. And I even still have this tiny little glimmer of hope that maybe, just maybe Mikael is still alive after all, because I really, really want to see Elijah interact with his father. Rebekah too, while we're at it.
I need an Elijah icon
