gwaevalarin: (Crowley)

Because things can always get worse

It's hiatus, the season is nearing its end, and Paley has showered us with spoilers. Now I want to know, whether you are aware of any spoilers or not, what you expect from the finale. Best case scenario? Worst case scenario?

Here is my, somewhat cracktastic, speculation on where it is all headed.

I'm mainly working with two thing here:
1. The feeling that Crowley is not gone for good, that his own death was part of Crowley's plan to find Purgatory, that he is too clever to let Castiel find his bones, and that it was just too stupid a move, storytelling-wise, to throw away a great storyline like that.
2. "Certain regrettable things are now required of me."

Now with a few spoilers in mind, that I won't mention, because it's not important what they are exactly, and I want everyone to be able to join the discussion, this is my theory:

Castiel and Crowley have a deal - yes, you may discuss if that means that they kissed. Not what I'm going for right now, though. ;) - Crowley did something for Cas to help him with his war against Raphael, and in return Cas helped Crowley find Purgatory, and possibly brought Samuel back. Part of the deal was to "kill" Crowley and send him to Purgatory, probably with a return guarantee.
With Mommy Dearest not home right now, because she's roaming the earth, Crowley can easily take over Purgatory. And then he'll be back, King of Hell and Purgatory. And he'll be a good demon and send a nice little "Thanks, Cas." in our angels direciton. One that everyone can hear, of course, so they all know just how good a friend and ally Castiel has been.

Which leaves us with a case of each against all for the finale:
Eve, who no one really cares about.
Crowley, with an armee of monsters at his disposal and a big grin on his face. And while we're at it, can we have a big revealing explanation on Crowley's finger snapping? We know who he was before he became a demon, so he's obviouisly not an angel. But I still want this to mean something.
Raphael, who only wants to crush Cas and everyone else who ever pissed him off, and get the Apocalypse back on track, without caring too much about the rest.
Cas, struggling with his powers and the decisions he has to make. At his side Balthazar, who'll either protect his brother at all costs, or try to get him off the path he's on - I-pretend-like-I-don't-care Balthazar style of course - and will probably get himself killed in the process (even though I still hope and pray I'm wrong about this).
And finally Sam and Dean (and Bobby), finding themselves in the middle of it all. Dean loses his trust in Cas because he worked with a demon - which I don't like, and which is terribly hypocritical of him, but I do see it coming. And Sam... well, Sam's wall probably decides that this is the perfect moment to break down.

Chaos, destruction, and the worst possible place for everyone to be in. Welcome to Supernatural.

If/when Crowley returns I want him to be all: I have what I want now, and I tricked you all into helping me get it. But in a way, that shows him as enjoying being such a manipulative bastard rather than simply being evil. And I'll be happy if there's hinting that maybe he partially did agree to the deal with Castiel because he doesn't like the idea of Raphael taking over Heaven any more than Cas does. And yes maybe the two of them could team up against Eve as well.
I think ultimately Crowley IS evil, and always has been. But he's evil in a fun, likable way, following his own agenda, enjoying the world as is, and that definitely needs to stay.
I think Crowley would insist that the kiss is necessary, just to make Cas uncomfortable

I don't like Dean losing faith in Cas either, but it seems to me that this is where their relationship is heading right now. It hasn't been the same all season. And if you add keeping a deal he made with Crowley from them to that...

Yes, Adam! He's their brother, he's family, and yet he's been mentioned exactly once this season, and no one ever made the slightest attempt to get him out.

Oh, and I want Crowley and Balthazar to meet.

Yes! There the fun!evil and just... crazy!evil like Eve is)) Give me the fun!evil please. Demons may be evil, but they don't have to act like stereotyped villains.
Oh God, smn has to write that! XDDDD
Dean and Cas just need to TALK. Cas would explain everything, and Dean will trust him again.
EXACTLY! This Adam thing is seriously bugging me! The Winchesters are so fixated on family and yet they let their own brother rot in the cage. Adam may have come off as a bit of douche, but he's still family - and a victim of their shenanigans, so go help him already! Or at least remember him.
Hahaha, I think Crowley and Balthazar would like each other) I also wonder what the relationship between Balthazar and Gabriel was like. They seem to have a lot in common. XDDDDD

Mainly, Cas needs to talk and Dean needs to listen to him. But it doesn't look like that's happening anytime soon.

I can't even blame Adam for the way he's been acting. When he was resurrected, he didn't know jack squat about his brothers or the Apocalypse other than what Zach had told him. And he certainly doesn't deserve to rot in the cage with Michael and Lucifer.

Crowley and Balthazar would so go and have a drink together. Or they'd fight each other, but mainly because it'd be a hell of a lot of fun for both of them.

I don't think there was any unusal relationship between Bal an Gabe back in the days. Balthazar has only shown the side of his personality we know so well now, after he left Heaven.
If they met now - I just talked about this on Twitter yesterday - I think they'd pretend to hate each others guts while secretely liking each others style. And then they'd probably try to outperform each other. Gabriel would win on the shenanigans front of course, being an archangel and a Trickster. And Bal would win when it come to getting laid.
